About Us

OUR HISTORY

The Forget-Me-Not Cafe was launched in September 2012 by the Rotary Club of Langport and Somerton. Some of the Rotarians had family members who were affected by Dementia and Alzheimer’s and they wanted to set something up for them and for others living in the area with similar challenges.

The café started at The Angel in Langport and, after a few years outgrew the premises so needed to find an alternative, suitable site in the local area.

Curry Rivel Village Hall

Curry Rivel Village Hall was able to offer more space and a larger kitchen to allow the café to expand in terms of clients and activities and the café made a successful move to its new premises.

Now that it is fully established, the Rotary Club is happy that the Forget-Me-Not Cafe is managed under its own committee and constitution.

WHAT WE DO

The Forget-Me-Not Café is open every Tuesday afternoon at Curry Rivel Village Hall and can be visited by anyone who may have memory challenges or who might like some company or who simply wants to get out of the house for a couple of hours.

To discover what to expect at the cafe visit our Welcome! page.

We are staffed entirely by volunteers who are there to provide a safe environment and a warm welcome to all of our guests.

There isn’t any charge although donations are always welcome.
